From then on, I tried to avoid ever driving by there because it reminded of my great fear.

          But back to Larry. He told me that Toastmasters would really help me in my career and kept trying to get me to go to a meeting with him. Every week he asked me to go and every week I came up with an excuse. I was getting pretty creative at coming up with excuses. One week I could not think of an excuse and I agreed to go. I immediately regretted that I had agreed to go to the meeting. I was nervous all week and had planned on just not showing up the night of the meeting, but my wife insisted that I go.

          Well, I’m very glad I went to the meeting, because that decision would lead me to discover the secrets of eliminating my fear of public speaking.
